In Edward the Sixthes time by Mr William Sheldon Esq. at Shrawley there were diverse tenants that did take their living of the said Mr Sheldon for terme of their life and first then it was presented that one JOHN SEVARNE of Hazlehouse died and was and _______? the Lord freeman ---? And his wife colde not be admitted to her freebench by reason of the said cause yet the Lord in consideration of her povertye and _____? Of her powers Sheldon grant it to her for tenancy of her life and did receive no money of her for the same at the said Court. It was then presented that THOMAS SEVARNE, WILLIAM SEVARNE the son of JOHN SEVARNE, JOHN MARTEN, ROBERT MARTEN the son of HEWE MARTEN , THOMAS MARTEN son of THOMAS MARTEN of Poolpit, JOHN SEVARNE son of ROBERT SEVARNE and JOHN SEVARNE son of JOHN SEVARNE aforesaid and BRYAN SEVARNE are the Lords freemen in Blod (blood) further they did then present that JAMES SEVARNE of Penssaskes was the lords freeman unless the said JAMES could show or paie ------a lawful monie amission.
At the same Court one HENRY SALWAY did take of the lord one cottage and a close called Pipclose by copie for term of his life and did give unto the lord £10 to the affirm the rent 3sh 0d per annum THOMAS HARBAGE did take of the lord by copie one Pasture for term of his life contained one acre of land for the yearly rent of 12 sh and the fine 6sh 8d and the name of ackers is called Bryght Heye. One ROBERT STONE did take of the Lord one cottage in the fourthe year for terme of his life rent 7sh fine and heryot £1 3sh 4d and services due as custom. In the fifthe yeare of Edward Sixthe RICHARD WYCKEN did take of the Lord 1 meese and halfe yarde land called Cockbaylis and pay for his fine £8 the rent yearly 12sh 3d At the same Court one RICHARD STONE did take of the Lord one cottage in Shrawley rent 6d and 3 closes one called Cockes Heye the rent 4d and Lord’s Crofte rent 2d and the field close Chorche Croft (Church Croft) rent 9d to hold for terme of his life the fine 3sh 4d
At the same Court JOHN MILLARD did take of the Lord the reversion of 1 meese 10 virgates nockes of land called Ropers for tenancy of his life rent yearly 7 shilligs and the fine £6 13sh 4d
