Because the book has 48pps it has been divided into four sections for ease of downloading and to give readers the ability to pick out the articles they may find interesting. Section one touches on the early history of the village and life during the 19th and 20th Centuries.
Section two deals with the Vernon family, the Church, Yarrantons mill, the history of the Parish magazine, Shrawley wood, Glasshampton monastery and a picture gallery.
Section three has general stories of interest, the village halls, extracts from an early sale catalogue and another picture gallery.
Section four covers recent notable events, a list of field names, listed buildings and a few odd facts.

Some of the past residents of Shrawley are being researched by the History Society with the aid of the parish registers.
At the moment we are concentrating on WW1 War Role which hangs in the village hall. If anyone has done their own research and would like to add their results here please contact the history society. |
